Charge in the game
Ultimates fill as you play. Dealing damage, healing and other hero actions contribute according to that hero’s rules. The official hero page is the place to confirm a specific kit.
A full ultimate is a fight-winning button, so teams track who is close to ready.
The overlay
Ultimate Bar on /features/world-visuals shows ultimate charge on displayed heroes. It is a readout.
Auto Ultimate Cancel is a hero-logic action with its own enable and detection range. Seeing the bar does not cancel an ultimate.
Using the information
Players often save a defensive ultimate when the enemy Duelist ultimate is close. That is ordinary gamesense.
Picks / Bans Overlay is a different screen, used in the draft phase rather than mid-fight charge tracking.
